Are you prepared to wield real influence within the monumental Western Renewables Link Project (WRL)? This groundbreaking endeavour stands as the largest transmission build in over three decades, a vital conduit poised to channel renewable energy from western Victoria's abundant wind and solar farms to power homes across the state and the National Electricity Market. 

 

As the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Coordinator (HSEQ) within our dynamic Delivery and Operations Team, you will be empowered to champion a culture of safety and environmental awareness across the Western Renewables Link Project Team. Your role will involve offering advice to all personnel, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental compliance and initiatives. Conducting regular site visits and internal audits will be key responsibilities to uphold our high standards of safety and environmental management systems.

With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office/ WFH , this role is based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Western Renewables Link project team, Development & Future Networks team. 

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:  

  • Conducting periodical site visits and undertaking internal audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental management systems. 
  • Creating audit reports, tracking action completion, and providing follow-up. 
  • Investigating incidents, reporting, and recommending preventive measures. 
  • Maintaining knowledge of relevant HSEQ legislation and standards. 
  • Ensuring field personnel have necessary safety training and equipment. 
  • Identifying and addressing safety and environmental training needs. 
  • Managing onboarding/offboarding processes and training, and maintaining personnel records. 
  • Supporting HSEQ initiatives and implementing HSE procedures. 
  • Contributing to HSEQ communications, meetings, and reporting. 

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: 

  • Experience as a HSEQ Professional, preferably within construction projects and/or energy sector  
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) (preferred) 
  • Ability to provide various types of HSEQ support and prioritise accordingly. 
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (preferred) 
  • Lead Auditor in OHS/WHS Management Systems (preferred) 
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
