Become part of a critical team for The Western Renewables Link Project (WRL), the largest transmission build in over three decades and is critical infrastructure required to unlock the renewable energy potential of Victoria as the state transitions to cleaner, more sustainable energy.
As a WRL Graphic Designer you will support the delivery of high-quality visual communications for the Western Renewables Link (WRL) project. This role is responsible for producing engaging, accessible, and brand-aligned design materials that support landholder engagement, community outreach, and project communications. Working closely with the communications and stakeholder engagement teams, the Graphic Designer will help bring complex information to life through clear and compelling visual formats.
This role is ideal for a skilled Graphic Designer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about visual storytelling and creating designs that make a real impact.
The successful candidate will have a strong eye for detail, a deep understanding of accessibility and inclusivity in design, and the ability to translate technical content into visually engaging materials.

The role is based in Melbourne or Ballarat, and is part of the Communications, Stakeholder & Industry Engagement team.
Some regional travel maybe required for this role.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Design and produce digital and print materials including fact sheets, infographics, presentations, signage, social media graphics, and landholder collateral.
- Ensure all materials are visually consistent with WRL and AusNet brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with communications advisors, engagement leads, and technical experts to translate complex content into accessible visual formats.
- Support the development and maintenance of WRL design templates and visual assets.
- Assist with layout and formatting of reports, newsletters, and other project documentation.
- Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and attention to detail.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of visual communication tools and processes.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Tertiary qualifications in graphic design, visual communications, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in a design role, ideally within infrastructure, government, or community-facing projects.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to create clear, engaging, and accessible design work.
- Experience designing for both print and digital formats.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
