The Technical Specialist for Construction Transmission Lines is responsible for making sure we have a high-quality transmission network being constructed for AusNet Services. They work closely with the Project Manager, Design Partners, and Delivery Partners, keeping an eye on Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSE&Q) at the worksite throughout various projects. They’ll also report any issues back to the Project Manager.
If you’ve spent time working on transmission lines or have hands-on experience in a similar field, this role could be a great fit for you. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in linework—someone who’s comfortable working outdoors, understands the physical demands of the job, and knows what it takes to get the job done safely and efficiently.

With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role a permanent full time position and can be located in one of our depots in Victoria and is part of the Transmission team. This role will require travel, and you'll be on the road as part of your responsibilities.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Reviewing business cases
- Conducting technical tender reviews for delivery partners
- Providing design input for constructability and timelines
- Performing preconstruction site reviews and inspections, including documenting the work area for scope input
- Ensuring quality aligns with the design and Station Design Manual (SDM)
- Verifying that the delivery partner complies with site access and security requirements
- Advising the delivery partner on site setup and installation, following Work Safe guidelines and the SDM
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Experience in Transmission Primary Construction
- Can meet deadlines and know when to escalate issues
- Skilled in prioritising and planning tasks
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Dedicated to the safety of both the community and employees involved in providing services
