We are looking for a Technical Lead (Testing and Commissioning) to oversee the seamless execution of numerous large and intricate design packages, overseeing multiple work streams to ensure alignment with design specifications, timeframes, and budgetary parameters, while also prioritizing commercial viability, safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental and community objectives.

This pivotal role is specifically tailored to spearhead and supervise the design implementation of various greenfield and brownfield terminal station work packages within the ambit of the Western Renewable Link (WRL) Project. Additionally, it entails offering technical guidance during the construction phase as needed.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid (Office/WFH) split this role is based in Melbourne, Victoria with regular travel to our sites from Ballarat to Ararat and is part of the Western Renewables Link (WRL) Team

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Plan, control, and oversee test & commissioning (T&C) delivery to meet quality and project objectives.
  • Monitor performance of T&C partners within the EPC contractor to ensure timely deliverables within budget.
  • Lead approval process for all T&C packages in alignment with project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and manage responses to queries during design and construction phases.
  • Develop and manage T&C schedules, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Ensure T&C costs align with project requirements and demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Contribute to new business and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage client and stakeholder expectations, fostering effective communication within the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with design and T&C procedures, fostering innovation and project success.
  • Uphold AusNet Safety in Design requirements and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and deliver T&C elements of the project, engaging internal stakeholders for seamless operations.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout project delivery and commissioning.
     

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Architecture, Building, Construction, Engineering or extensive experience in technical management on significant projects, design or construction
  • Multi-discipline project experience in Building, Construction and Design
  • Proven commercial and legislative compliance skills and design frameworks and systems
  • Demonstrated competencies in Head Contract and Subcontract understanding and interpretation.
  • Strong stakeholder management with major consultant partners
  • Awareness of risk management principles and how design can impact operational risk.
  • Proficient skills in relevant computer software packages and necessary to perform the role.
  • Strong time and cost management skills in timely delivery of design and management of both the costs of preparing design and the costs of the works
