Title:  Strategy Lead

Location:

Victoria, Australia

Employment Type:  Permanent Full Time
Description:

When you choose AusNet, you’ll join genuine people working together, making Real. Progress

At AusNet, we’re the link between renewable energy sources and local communities, playing a key role in the clean energy transition and providing essential energy to every Victorian family.  AusNet’s gas network is an essential service for homes and businesses in Western Victoria and will remain a critical part of the energy system for decades to come.

Help us lead the way, while enriching your career with real people who encourage you to bring your best and make real impact – for your career, our communities, and Australia’s cleaner energy future.

Purposeful work with genuinely good people. That’s refreshing.

The future of gas is evolving. As owners of both electricity and gas networks in Victoria, we have a front row seat to how customer behaviour is changing and how the energy system will change, and the gas network will continue to play a critical role through this dynamic period. We need strategic thinkers to collaborate on maintaining a safe and reliable network, promoting price stability, and planning for our future role. As Strategy Lead, you’ll help shape this future - bringing insight, creativity, and influence to one of the most significant transitions in Australia’s energy landscape.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Developing a long-term strategic agenda for the gas network and pathway to implementation.
  • Undertaking rigorous research and analysis to assess risks and opportunities.
  • Driving execution of strategic initiatives and responding rapidly to emerging issues.
  • Preparing insights and recommendations for the Board and Executive Leadership Team.

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Demonstrated experience in strategy roles (consulting, corporate strategy, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at executive level.
  • Energy sector experience is a plus, but not essential.

A real place to belong

We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives and diversity in our team. Engage and connect through our social club, family day, wide range of events or by joining one of our Employee Network Groups.

We believe in more than just competitive pay. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Development: Exposure to AusNet’s ELT, plus mentoring from a leader with top-tier consulting experience.
  • Flexibility: Hybrid work and flexible hours to help balance work and life.
  • Leave: Generous 14 weeks paid parental leave, with no minimum service.
  • Community Giving: A paid day to volunteer for a cause that matters to you.
  • Perks: Purchased leave, income protection insurance, novated leasing, corporate discounts, private health cover discounts and more.

As an industry in transformation, we’re excited by the possibilities ahead.

So, if you’re passionate about our purpose and committed to making real progress, bring your energy and join AusNet. Together, we can shape a new way forward.
