About the Role

As a Strategic Portfolio Planner you will play a crucial role in shaping the energy landscape by building and maintaining a view of project and program works for the Network Operations & Safety (NO&S) Group over the next 5 year horizon.

This role involves collaborating with work initiators, finance, and regulation to create and maintain a comprehensive "visible pipeline" of all upcoming works, covering capital and operational works across Distribution, Transmission, and Gas, totaling approximately $500 million p.a.

Your contributions and insights will support the NO&S group and the broader business in making strategic decisions for an expanding works portfolio.

This role will report to the Manager, Strategic Planning & Improvement within NO&S and is based in Southbank, Victoria with occasional travel across various AusNet sites.

  

What you will deliver

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the 5 year works pipeline including monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Provide expertise to analyse and interrogate the pipeline, supporting NO&S decision-making for the delivery of the portfolio.
  • Conduct regular 'pipeline update' forums with senior stakeholders to outline emerging trends, future forecasts, and discuss key risks/opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Network Management, Development & Future Networks, Finance, and Regulation teams to obtain information for the 5-year pipeline view.
  • Create and implement new processes to support ongoing "pipeline" requirements.

 

 What we like about you

  • Significant complex project and portfolio management experience and understanding of methodologies.
  • Excellent portfolio analytical skills with the ability to synthesis numerous inputs and present clear findings and recommendations.
  • Proven reporting experience in a business or complex projects environment including strong ERP system experience e.g. SAP Portfolio Management & Project Systems
  • Relationship and stakeholder management skills at all organisation levels have been fundamental to your success in working within complex operating environments.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills to proactively engage with key senior stakeholders and lead meetings, with limited assistance.
  • Ability to work positively and proactively within a team environment
  • Problem solving skills – rapidly identifies solutions by applying knowledge of AusNet products and services
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business or data analytics and experience within the utility sector
