As a Sourcing Specialist at AusNet, you’ll play a key role in maximising sourcing effectiveness and delivering commercial outcomes that optimise total cost of ownership.

 

Working closely with the Senior Project Procurement managers and Senior Commercial supplier Managers.and business stakeholders, you’ll support end-to-end sourcing activities—ensuring responsive, efficient, and value-driven procurement outcomes across the Networks portfolio.

 

You’ll bring strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, along with a proactive approach to managing tenders, supplier relationships, and sourcing projects. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a high-performing procurement team and make a meaningful impact on business outcomes.

 

 

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Ensure compliance with WHS, cyber security, and relevant legislation, standards, and AusNet policies.
  • Support the Senior Project Procurement managers and Senior Commercial supplier Managers by engaging stakeholders and understanding business requirements.
  • Deliver end-to-end sourcing activities including tendering, RFx processes, evaluations, and contract drafting.
  • Manage multiple sourcing projects concurrently, ensuring timelines, probity, and sourcing policies are met.
  • Apply negotiation and influencing strategies to achieve optimal commercial outcomes and value for money.
  • Conduct supplier analysis, evaluations, and pricing reviews to optimise cost, quality, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, tracking systems, and reporting for procurement activities.
  • Build strong stakeholder and supplier relationships while driving continuous improvement and culture change.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree qualification
  • Professional qualification/certification from related professional body, e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), is an advantage
  • Current knowledge and experience with utilities/renewable industry is an advantage
  • Current knowledge and experience with financial budgeting and planning is an advantage
  • Advanced competency with productivity tools (Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is mandatory
  • Competency with procurement enterprise systems (e.g. ERP systems, Ariba, e-Procurement tools) is an advantage
