We have an opportunity for a Shift Manager to lead real time network operations, emergency response activities and control room teams responsible for maintaining safe, reliable energy supply to Victorian communities.

Reporting to the Control Room Manager and based in our Melbourne Control Room, you'll provide on shift leadership across our Distribution and Gas networks while leading a team of controllers, senior controllers and dispatch personnel in a complex 24/7 operational environment

What you’ll help deliver

• Lead real time operations across the Distribution and Gas networks, ensuring the safe, reliable delivery of energy to customers.
• Lead the shift during network incidents and emergency events, coordinating responses, managing escalations and supporting critical decision making.
• Build a high performing team through coaching, mentoring and creating a positive, accountable control room culture.
• Partner with stakeholders across operations, engineering, asset management and delivery teams to optimise network performance and operational outcomes

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

• Proven experience as a Shift Manager or Senior Controller within an electricity network control room, with the technical credibility to lead operational decision making.
• Strong people leadership capability, with the confidence to coach, mentor and positively influence team culture in a 24/7 operational environment.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities and lead teams through incidents, outages and emergency events.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence and supporting change across people, processes and technology.
