We have an opportunity for a Shift Manager to provide on-shift leadership of a control room team and delivering safe, timely network switching and access across AusNet’s Transmission, Electricity Distribution and Gas Distribution Networks.

Based at our Control Room in Melbourne’s CBD with a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, this role is part of the Control & Operations, Distribution team.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

• Leading and supporting a diverse control room team across rotating shifts
• Overseeing real-time planned and emergency activities across three networks
• Managing network incidents in line with emergency protocols
• Providing expert technical advice and resolving complex operational challenges
• Driving team performance and contributing to network reliability and positive customer outcomes

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

• Relevant experience working in regulated operational environments across energy networks
• Strong leadership and the ability to manage teams in fast-paced, dynamic settings
• Strong knowledge of operating principles, systems, and equipment across gas and electricity distribution and transmission networks
• Skilled in solving complex challenges and leading teams through change
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and emergency management capabilities
