We have an opportunity for a Shift Manager to provide on-shift leadership of a control room team and delivering safe, timely network switching and access across AusNet’s Transmission, Electricity Distribution and Gas Distribution Networks. 

Based at our Control Room in Melbourne’s CBD with a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, this role is part of the Distribution Control & Operations team. 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: 

• Leading and managing a control room team across rotating shifts 

• Overseeing real-time planned and emergency activities across three networks 

• Managing network incidents in line with emergency protocols 

• Providing expert technical advice and resolving complex operational issues 

• Driving performance and contributing to network reliability and customer outcomes 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: 

• Extensive experience in regulated operational environments across energy networks 

• Strong leadership and people management in high-paced settings 

• Advanced understanding of the operating principles, systems and equipment across gas, and electricity distribution and transmission networks. 

• Proven ability to resolve complex problems and lead through change 

• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and emergency management skills
