The Senior Sourcing Specialist sits within the Sourcing Team in DFN (Development Future Networks) Procurement. On a day-to-basis, the Senior Sourcing Specialist will interact and work closely with various Procurement Leads and project teams to deliver the various pre-award procurement activities. The exciting part about this role is that you’ll be involved in developing and delivering some of Australia’s largest renewable energy and transmission projects. You will have exposure, to solving complex challenges across our supply chain, manufacturing, and supplier capacity. 
 

You will be accountable for RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, evaluations, contract drafting and award.  Typical Procurement packages include land access, design and engineering, materials, specialist electrical equipment, construction etc. There is the opportunity to contribute to the ‘way we work’ and continuously improve our tools and processes. 
 

The key to success in this role is your ability to have agility, being comfortable in a non-structured environment, and having the skills to influence and close the loop. 
 

This role will report to the Procurement Lead who ensures capacity is allocated evenly across the project pipelines, that individuals have all the tools and resources to be successful, and will offer mentoring and support where needed. The role is located at Southbank, Victoria.  
 

Team members can elect a blend of working from home and attending the office, noting that we require a minimum of 2-3 days per week in the office. We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace. 
 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
 

  • Supporting the Procurement Lead to engage with business stakeholders delivering on 3-4 projects concurrently. Understand business unit requirements and ensure ongoing responsiveness of the sourcing function. 
  • Maximising project outcomes by supporting the Procurement Lead with effective sourcing strategies, negotiating competitive cost structures and mitigating identified risks. 
  • Conduct pre-award sourcing activities e.g. tendering and RFx activities, evaluations, contract drafting. 
  • Continually review procurement and vendor management processes and practices to identify continuous improvement opportunities 

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree qualification, or Professional qualification/certification from related professional body, e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), is an advantage 
  • Current knowledge and experience with CAPEX Infrastructure or the Electrical industry is advantageous 
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-award procurement processes. Front end, sourcing events, tendering, negotiating and setting up contracts. 
  • You have success stories with delivering positive stakeholder engagement and supplier interactions  
  • Current knowledge and experience with financial budgeting and planning is an advantage 
  • Competency with Ariba, Excel and PowerBI
