 About the Role  

As the Senior Sourcing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving and leading effective sourcing activity to obtain an outcome that optimises total cost of ownership across renewable Energy projects.

 

Day to day, the Senior Sourcing Specialist will interact and work closely with various leads and project teams to deliver the various pre-award procurement activities.  The exciting part about this role is that you’ll be involved in developing and delivering some of Australia’s largest renewable energy and transmission projects. You will have exposure, to solving complex challenges across our supply chain, manufacturing, and supplier capacity.

 

You will be accountable for RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, evaluations, contract drafting and award.  Typical procurement packages include land access, design and engineering, materials, specialist electrical equipment, construction etc. There is the opportunity to contribute to the ‘way we work’ and continuously improve our tools and processes.

 

The key to success in this role is your ability to have agility, being comfortable in a non-structured environment, and having the skills to influence and close the loop.

 

This role will report to the Sourcing Lead and is located at Southbank, Victoria.

What you will deliver

  • You will support the Sourcing Lead in the end-to-end procurement process of all complex renewable project related sourcing and commercial activities
  • Lead the Sourcing event, market sounding, contractor selection, evaluation, negotiations, execution, and handover to delivery
  • Develop sourcing strategies and methods for the assigned renewable energy categories based on supply and demand power analysis and align with internal customers
  • Lead creation and maintenance of total cost of ownership models for the assigned renewable energy categories to extract maximum value from procurement spend
  • Develop project plans based on market engagement event requirements, including workload, Procurement and Corporate resource requirements, risks and timelines, working closely with Category & Commercial Managers
  • Negotiate directly with key stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors during the tender process or where difficulties arise following award with regard to acquisition methods, pricing, deliveries, or product specification

 

What we like about you                                                                                                                                       

  • Related Degree qualification or Professional qualification/certification from related professional body, e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), is an advantage
  • Proven experince in a CAPEX Infrastructure or the Electrical / renewables industry is advantageous
  • Knowledge in designing bespoke sourcing events and contracts to suit complex greenfield projects and a track record in influencing and negotiating with suppliers on complex contracts for design, construction, control rooms, electrical equipment and more
  • Broad experience in the use of contract precedents and different styles of contracts for the procurement of goods and services, along with experience in preparing, issuing, recording, and evaluating tender documentation
  • You have success stories in influencing internal and external stakeholders, senior management, and line managers on complex issues
