Working within the Transmission team, you’ll apply your expertise in protection, control, SCIMS and communication systems to support the delivery of transmission terminal station projects.
You’ll partner with internal stakeholders and delivery partners to ensure projects are completed cost‑effectively and to a consistently high standard across the network.
Hybrid working applies (Southbank/WFH), with occasional travel to sites and depots as required.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Provide technical support into Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet’s Transmission network
- Apply protection and control technical engineering knowledge to ensure efficient solutions can be reached on complex design projects
- Develop scopes and specifications for design and construction. Review and assess brownfield and greenfield electricity substation designs
- Provide support to the estimation and schedule development activities.
- Identify opportunities to develop new, and update existing engineering standards
- Contribute to and be accountable for the development of secondary scopes and estimates for Transmission substation projects ensuring cost effective and constructible business cases can be delivered, including:
- Supporting the development of project schedules and risk registers
- Providing engineering input into commercial or customer offers
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field, with a strong commitment to safety outcomes and engineering judgement
- Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in secondary design and commissioning
- Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals
- Extensive experience working in electricity substations engineering, project delivery and/or design role
- Strong understanding of regulatory environment that AusNet operates within
- Skilled in leading and coordinating project engineering teams and mentoring junior team members.
