About the role

 

As Senior Risk Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping AusNet’s risk culture and capability. You’ll partner with senior leaders across the business to deliver strategic and tactical risk management, helping protect and grow value by anticipating and managing material risks.

 

This is a high-impact role where your insights and leadership will help embed risk awareness into decision-making and drive continuous improvement across our operations.

  • Connect the dots – Identify key risks and opportunities aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Be the business partner of choice – Develop and monitor Risk & Assurance Plans in collaboration with business units.
  • Enable excellence in risk outcomes – Recommend sustainable actions to address control deficiencies and manage risks within appetite.
  • Uplift risk culture and capability – Coach leaders to embed risk awareness in everyday decisions.
  • Add risk value – Provide insights on emerging themes, threats, and opportunities.
  • Lead company-wide initiatives – Drive implementation of risk programs and practices across AusNet.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

We’re looking for someone with a strong mix of experience, insight, and influence. You don’t need to tick every box, but a great candidate will likely have:

  • A degree in engineering, law, business, or accounting (or similar).
  • 7+ years’ experience in risk leadership roles within Energy, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, or Telco sectors.
  • Deep understanding of ISO 31000 risk management principles.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Experience in enterprise-wide risk management and assurance processes.
