This role will see you providing specialised engineering expertise for AusNet’s Distribution network equipment to ensure that we optimise the cost, risk and performance over the asset lifecycle
With a hybrid split (Office/WFH)), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of our Lines team within our Network Management, Distribution line of business.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Provide an overview of Network asset performance, leading to the provision of appropriate and timely advice for the overall effective management of network assets
- Identify and implement innovative asset management techniques
- Participate in discussions with auditors and stakeholders regarding Network assets
- Provide professional and specialist engineering advice and support
- Provide expertise on strategies, asset performance, and technical specifications
- Develop concepts, prepare business cases, and manage project documentation
- Assist in implementing asset management and replacement initiatives
- Review and evaluate the condition of installed cables and distribution line assets
- Investigate equipment failures, draft reports and make informed technical decisions
- Present asset management strategies and/or plans to asset management stakeholders both internal and external as required
You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience within the Utilities industry in engineering/asset management
- Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks and relevant standards, including regulatory frameworks and legislation
- Understanding of relevant Australian and International standards and industry codes of practice
- Ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment
- In-depth knowledge of distribution system components, equipment, and technologies, with a focus on primary substation equipment and emerging trends and innovations
- Knowledge of relevant condition monitoring and assessment techniques for power and instrument transformers
