As the Senior Engineer, Maintenance, you will oversee the delivery of the Transmission Operations and Maintenance Agreement (TOMSA), ensuring a safe, reliable transmission network. You will play a key role in managing escalated issues with our delivery partner and driving high-quality maintenance outcomes. 

 

The role is based in Southbank, Melbourne, with hybrid working arrangements available. 

 

What you’ll be doing in this role: 

  • Maintain a site presence during critical preventative works to ensure all activities align with Safe Work Instructions (SWIs) 

  • Point of contact for Field resources on maintenance delivery matters 

  • Adopts a risk-based approach to support maintenance activities by completing risk assessments to prioritise tasks. 

  • Provide technical input into maintenance-related SOPs and PGIs to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with field practices 

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure maintenance plans align with standards, providing guidance to Asset Management and Field Engineering 

  • Oversee maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, timelines, and budget constraints 

  • Review input from field teams on asset condition and provide recommendations to Asset Management for updates to maintenance plans 

  • Ensure new assets are effectively integrated into maintenance plans, including establishment of emergency response requirements 

  • Participate in project-to-maintenance handovers, identifying gaps and following up with relevant stakeholders 

  • Provide technical and analytical input into maintenance activities, including constructability, operability, maintainability (COM), and safety in design 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption 

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering  

  • Significant experience in electrical plant maintenance 

  • Experience with SAP ERP systems and data analytics/reporting tools 

  • Strong understanding of preventative, condition-based, and reliability-centred maintenance principles 

  • Solid engineering knowledge and problem-solving capability 

  • Budgeting and cost control experience 

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance 

  • A current driver’s licence
