Join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting the Compliance Manager, Distribution, as we uplift our compliance program and shape the future of our Distribution line of business. In this exciting role, you'll manage and monitor compliance obligations, helping to mitigate risks and enhance our understanding of regulatory requirements.

 

You'll ensure seamless and efficient processes for both external and internal reporting, as well as assist with compliance uplift activities. Over time, you'll become a trusted expert on our Distribution processes and obligations, identifying compliance risks and uncovering opportunities for improvement.

 

Your exceptional communication skills will be crucial in conveying requirements, queries, and updates clearly and efficiently, even amidst busy schedules. You'll be responsible for the timely completion of performance and breach reporting to regulators, ensuring thorough investigations and effective remediation planning and execution. Additionally, you'll coordinate and prepare internal reports, including Board reports, compliance visibility reports, and trend reports.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Compliance, Risk & Corporate Affairs

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Development of actionable insights and business impact assessments based on findings and proactive research to mitigate compliance risk and ensure compliance is embedded in business processes
  • Provision of expert advice on compliance matters, supporting business leaders in making informed decisions to maintain compliance in a constantly evolving regulatory environment
  • Assistance in driving compliance uplift initiatives including but not limited to awareness sessions, gap analysis, training programs and knowledge sharing
  • Management of regulator information requests including early engagement with the business to ensure requirements are clearly communicated, information meets expectations and deadlines are met
  • Proactive identification of improvement opportunities in compliance processes and practices, driving efficiency, effectiveness and risk mitigation
  • Strong relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to compliance and reporting

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Relevant Tertiary level qualifications
  • Considerable experience in a similar compliance role, preferably within the energy utilities sector
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language and ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines and shifting priorities effectively
  • Strong initiative and proactive mindset, consistently demonstrating the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
