About the role
This role will see you participating in an engineering team who provide technical expertise across the Projects portfolio. You and your team will work with internal stakeholders, and Design and Installation Delivery Providers to ensure projects are delivered in a cost-efficient way and to high quality standards.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing Civil and Structural technical scopes as part of the Project Concept Design during the Business Case Phase.
- Providing input into Civil and Structural designs and provide technical engineering advice for brownfield and greenfield substation projects.
- Developing and/or reviewing scopes, detailed design and installation scope of works.
- Providing technical input into staging, constructability, operability and maintainability (COM) and safety in design reviews.
- Identification, management and mitigation of all technical risks on development projects.
- Provide design related project delivery support including construction and commissioning support.
- Being a Subject Matter Expert in the field of Civil/ Structural Engineering
- Taking ownership of process improvement initiatives, specification and standard improvements and develop new methods where necessary
About you.
You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil/ Structural Engineering or similar
- Proven experience as an engineer
- Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in electricity networks engineering
- Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
- Extensive experience working in electricity substations engineering, project delivery and/or design role
- Strong understanding of regulatory environment that AusNet operates within
- Proven project team leadership skills
