We have an opportunity for a Security Control Room Lead to oversee all aspects of Control Room operations, ensuring AusNet’s critical infrastructure is secure and compliant with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018. You’ll lead contracted operators, coordinate responses to security incidents, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed a security-first culture
This role offers flexible hybrid working, based in Flinders Street, Melbourne, as part of the Protective Security Team
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
• Managing 24/7 operations to monitor AusNet sites and ensure a timely incident response
• Leading contracted operators, building a culture of excellence, diversity, and inclusion
• Driving operational threat analysis and reporting to inform strategic security decisions
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive processes and procedures
• Conducting regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Evaluating and recommending advanced surveillance technologies to enhance security operations.
• Promoting security awareness and fostering collaboration across all levels of the organisation
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Security Management) or equivalent experience
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing operational or contracted teams in high-pressure environments
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Private Security Act 2004, Surveillance Devices Act 1999, and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to addressing security challenges
• A proactive mindset with a track record of implementing initiatives to improve security culture and performance
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong stakeholder relationships
• First Aid certification and the ability to pass a critical infrastructure background check
