Join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting the Compliance Manager, Distribution, as we uplift our compliance program and shape the future of our Distribution line of business. In this exciting role, you'll support the compliance team in maintaining the Compliance Management System (CMS) database and completing and documenting compliance attestations from the business.

Your strong communication skills and ability to interpret legislation and compliance obligations will contribute to improvements in the efficiency of compliance activity monitoring and documentation.

You will also use your analytical skills to provide insights from the CMS database and inform compliance improvement activities.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Compliance, Risk & Corporate Affairs

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Maintain regulatory instruments, obligations and compliance tasks in the CMS database
  • Engage with the obligation owners and compliance task owners on CMS database requirements, including monitoring employee movements including departures, transfers and secondments
  • Assess compliance attestations, risks and controls, confirming that evidence of compliance has been captured and documented
  • Maintain breach and compliance commitment registers, and similar regular reporting for the business
  • Conduct analysis of compliance-related data (largely from the CMS but also other sources) to inform compliance improvement activities
  • Provide CMS database training to obligation and compliance task owners
  • Develop remedial action tracking process in the CMS

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Tertiary level qualifications and legal training preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar compliance role, preferably within the energy utilities sector
  • Experience in interpreting legislation and compliance obligations is preferred
  • Ability to interpret, analyse and develop insights from databases and other data sources
  • Ability to analyse data sets and create insights
  • Strong process background and genuine commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders
  • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
