We are seeking a Project Manager – Development to lead the early-stage planning and development of transmission projects, with a strong focus on providing critical inputs to business case development.

 

You will play a key role in shaping project scope, timelines, and feasibility—ensuring each initiative is strategically aligned and set up for long-term success. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

With a Hybrid working arrangement, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Project Delivery team within the Transmission line of business.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Lead, plan, and manage the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects across the project development lifecycle
  • Provide key inputs to business case development, including support for scope definition, cost estimation, risk identification, and scheduling
  • Deliver project schedules, milestones, and deliverables with business objectives and within regulatory requirements
  • Apply proactive risk management practices to safeguard timelines, budgets, and outcomes
  • Conduct project health checks and provide clear, actionable recommendations
  • Ensure customer needs, community expectations, and environmental outcomes are embedded in project design and delivery
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across AusNet divisions and with external stakeholders

 

What we're looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in electricity transmission or energy infrastructure development (preferred)
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects to time, budget, quality, and safety standards
  • Strong capability in contributing to business case inputs and supporting strategic investment decisions
  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and community outcomes
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiating and facilitating skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent
  • Certification with the Australian Institute of Project Management (preferred)
