An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Project Manager – Development to lead, plan, and manage the delivery of business projects through the development phase—including concept design and estimation. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring project plans and schedules are aligned with business needs, while effectively coordinating resources and applying your expertise to deliver outcomes safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

With a Hybrid working arrangement, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Project Delivery team within the Transmission line of business.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Lead, plan, and manage the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects across the development lifecycle
- Drive alignment of project schedules, milestones, and deliverables with business objectives and the Project Management Plan (PMP)
- Support the development of compelling business case estimation to secure funding and stakeholder buy-in
- Apply proactive risk management practices, translating technical and non-technical risks into actionable controls that protect timelines and budgets
- Conduct in-flight reviews and project health checks, offering clear, actionable recommendations
- Provide expert input on project estimation and planning outcomes
- Ensure customer needs and experience targets are embedded in project design and delivery
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across divisions, with external stakeholders, government, and the public
- Apply structured project management frameworks to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Experience in Energy Distribution Networks, i.e. electricity distribution, electricity transmission and/or gas, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create, build and grow relationships and business partnerships to build effective working relationships within and across Divisions and with external customers, government, and the public
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets i.e. timelines, budget, quality, safety
- Committed to the safety of the community, as a whole and employees engaged in the provision of services
- Well-developed report writing and presentation skills
- Effective interpersonal, negotiating and facilitating skills
- Degree in Project Management/Engineering/Business or equivalent technical qualifications or Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM) with AIPM
