Facilitate the seamless execution of a portfolio of high-value, intricate projects encompassing various work streams, typically exceeding $50 million in value.

 

Ensure alignment with design specifications, adherence to strict timelines and budgetary constraints, and attainment of overarching commercial, human resources, safety, quality, and environmental objectives.

 

Drive the achievement or surpassing of financial goals for each project, proactively identifying and addressing challenges while leveraging opportunities for optimization.

 

This pivotal role centers on spearheading the delivery of over 190 kilometers of new and enhanced transmission lines as part of the Western Renewable Link (WRL) Project.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid (Office/WFH) split this role is based in Melbourne, Victoria with regular travel to our sites from Ballarat to Ararat and is part of the Western Renewables Link (WRL) Team

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Manage project delivery to meet or exceed client expectations within specified timelines.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to achieve project goals within budget, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate communication among design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to optimize project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with EPC contractors and internal teams to adapt design and methods for project success.
  • Monitor progress against plans, contractual milestones, and financial targets, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, environmental management, risk, and compliance.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively and foster positive relationships for project success.
  • Oversee personnel to ensure capability and performance align with project objectives.
  • Contribute to business development, continuous improvement, and broader organizational goals.
  • Execute duties in compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, and electrical construction and commissioning for transmission line projects.
  • Manage augmentation works on existing transmission lines to meet project and company standards.
  • Facilitate seamless asset integration into operations through active engagement with internal stakeholders.
  • Integrate testing, commissioning, and handover requirements into EPC contractor's delivery methodology.
     

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent.
  • Diploma or Masters in Project Management, Certificate IV in Safety.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Proficiency in managing multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Skilled in coordinating complex construction logistics and stakeholder interactions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary design and construction practices.
  • Strong understanding of contractual, legal, and commercial compliance.
  • Advanced expertise in financial management, including cost reduction and budget adherence.
  • Proven track record in people and performance management, including subcontractors.
  • Experienced in complex client and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Competent in safety, environmental, and quality risk assessment.
  • Proficient in analyzing and reporting on project performance and compliance.
  • Managed capital projects/programs exceeding $50 million.
  • Familiarity with various contract types, including Managing Contractor and Design & Construct.
  • Previous experience in pre-contract roles such as Project Bid/Development Manager or Engineer.
