We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer – HV Cables to join our team and play a key role in delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
In this role, you'll help ensure the safe and high-quality delivery of projects to scope, schedule and budget, while meeting safety, customer, community, environmental and construction standards. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our project portfolio and be part of the team helping drive our industry's transition to a renewable energy future.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Support the Project Manager in planning, forecasting, reporting and delivering power infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on high voltage underground cable systems, while ensuring performance aligns with SLAs and CSAT outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership and advice across high-risk, high-value transmission and distribution projects (11kV–500kV), supporting concept design, tender development and project planning to deliver best-value technical solutions and achieve customer and regulatory requirements.
- Manage technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle, including design review and certification, stakeholder management, legislative compliance, risk and opportunity assessment, and resolution of technical issues.
- Support construction delivery through field implementation, quality assurance, on-site technical support and timely resolution of technical queries, ensuring safe work practices and design compliance are maintained.
- Lead project closeout and handover activities while contributing to commercially competitive proposals, value engineering initiatives, lessons learned workshops and continuous improvement in engineering and project delivery.
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and/or Professional Engineer Registration with the Business Licensing Authority Victoria.
- 5+ years' experience in the design and construction of high voltage cable projects, providing project engineering support across complex infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience in the design and construction of high voltage cable projects, providing project engineering support across complex infrastructure environments.
- Strong technical expertise, coupled with construction quality management and safety leadership capabilities.
- Ability to coordinate construction and commissioning activities on-site, with a sound understanding of safe work practices and the ability to review work methods.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
