As the Project Controller in our Contracts and Control Team, you will ensure essential support services for Engineering and Projects to delivery major infrastructure and customer projects.

 

At Ausnet you will get to work on exciting challenges that enrich your career and make a real impact. In this role you will work closely with Project Managers to establish a strong monitoring framework, in particular for cost, quality, risk, and schedule. 

 

With 3-4 days in the office, 1- 2 days’ work from home, this role is based in Malvern, Victoria and is part of the Contracts and Control Team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Advising on financial planning and budgeting as well as assisting in the development of financial plans and forecasts.
  • Monitors and manages project expenditure, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examining any areas where budgets and expenditure exceed their agreed tolerances.
  • Ensures the expenditure approval process is adhered to and that spend is within approved budgets whilst playing an active role in the governance of all financial and operational elements of the portfolio.
  • Assists with monthly financial and project reporting requirements.
  • Ensures that program and project leads adhere to the agreed portfolio management approach and timetable.
  • Responsible for the provision of financial and project management services.
  • Manages the Project Control request process and procurement process whilst providing project administration support.
  • Implements stakeholder engagement/communications plans.
  • Actively contributes to the resolution of key strategic and operational issues by providing accurate and timely financial advice and guidance to the key stakeholders and other senior project leaders.


You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Educational qualification preferably in accounting or finance
  • Experience and understanding of the project delivery environment, financial functions, and cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of project management practices, governance, and project schedules.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills to manage effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Strong reporting and computer skills to facilitate project management support services.
  • Understanding of procurement and contract management processes and principles
