About the role
As Procurement Excellence Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of procurement capability and sustainable procurement across our organisation. You’ll lead programs that promote sustainable procurement, uplift capability, streamline processes, and embed best-practice principles, ensuring our procurement function delivers outstanding value and supports AusNet’s purpose of connecting communities with reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Procurement Capability and Sustainable Procurement programs, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop and implement strategies, frameworks, and methodologies that enhance procurement and supply chain management excellence.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on procurement processes and translating insights into actionable solutions.
- Own and deliver training programs to onboard new team members and uplift capability across P&SCM.
- Drive simplification of internal processes and improve supplier experience across the source-to-pay cycle.
- Collaborate with leaders across AusNet to implement initiatives that showcase procurement’s enterprise value and align with corporate objectives.
- Develop KPIs, measure progress, and provide clear, accurate reporting on capability uplift and performance improvements.
- Foster a culture of continuous review and improvement, enabling feedback and interactive change.
- Lead and coach team members with a focus on inclusivity, safety, and alignment with AusNet’s values.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; post-graduate qualification highly regarded.
- Experience: 7+ years in procurement, with significant expertise in training and development, policy and process design, strategy, sustainable procurement, and continuous improvement leadership.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities to influence at all levels.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with procurement enterprise systems (ERP, e-Procurement tools).
- Knowledge of the utilities industry and project management experience is an advantage.
- A collaborative mindset and passion for driving excellence, innovation, and sustainable outcomes.
