As the Portfolio Planning Lead in our Strategic Portfolio Management and Planning Team, you will play an essential role in building and maintaining a view of project and program works that Network Operations will deliver over the next five years.

 

Help us in leading the way and providing insights to assist the strategic decisions that are crucial to confidently delivery on the expanding works portfolio as part of the energy transition. In this role you will work closely with senior stakeholders to create and maintain a visible pipeline of all works programs.

 

With 3 days in the office, 2 days’ work from home, this role is based in Southbank, Victoria and is part of the Planning, Performance & Customer Team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Establish medium to long-term strategic portfolio planning to ensure deliverability of an expanding portfolio of Network Operations projects and programs.
  • Work with and influence senior stakeholders across Network Operations, Network Management, Finance, and the Strategy & Regulation teams to obtain information that supports the preparation of a 5-year pipeline view.
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of “pipeline” monitoring tools and dashboards and manage the validity of all pipeline data.
  • Create and implement new processes to support the ongoing pipeline requirements, drawing on best practices and methodologies.
  • Provide expertise to analyse and interrogate the portfolio.
  • Lead regular pipeline review forums with senior stakeholders to outline emerging trends across the portfolio, future forecasts and discuss key risks / opportunities.


You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Significant experience in project and portfolio management within a complex environment and understanding of methodologies.
  • Experience within the utility sector and an understanding of regulated businesses is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to proactively engage with key senior stakeholders, lead meetings and influence outcomes.
  • Exceptional leadership, co-ordination, and facilitation skills with ability to manage multiple and competing tasks.
  • Proven reporting experience in a business or complex projects environment including strong ERP system experience e.g. SAP Portfolio Management & Project Systems
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Ability to prioritise business outcomes and promote continuous improvement of digital platforms and processes.
