The Plant Maintenance Lead will ensure the reliability, resilience and safety of electrical distribution systems by implementing effective maintenance strategies and complying with regulatory standards. This position focuses on optimising asset performance.

 

With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based between Malvern and Southbank, with frequent site visits also required and is part of the Network Management team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Oversee the plant maintenance plan and pipeline
  • Conduct root cause analysis of asset failures and recommend preventative measures
  • Conduct asset condition monitoring and analyse data to identify trends and potential issues, ensuring timely interventions
  • Oversee maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, timelines and budget constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-ordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruptions
  • Work closely with field teams, engineering and operations to communicate maintenance schedules and requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in asset management
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies and regulations related to asset maintenance.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Extensive experience as an Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ field experience in operation, maintenance and repair of distribution network assets
  • Experience in both Primary and Secondary electrical plant is highly desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of industry maintenance practices and procedures of electrical plant and equipment associated with distribution network assets
  • Proficiency in the use of engineering related software applications, MS office and SAP (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects/initiatives, teams and budgets
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent stakeholder management and reporting skills
  • Ability to plan and organise role accountabilities
  • Advanced interpersonal skills that enable communication at all levels
  • Ability to distil various stakeholder positions and develop and overall strategy
  • Poses a strong commitment to risk management principles
  • Excellent verbal communications kills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and lead initiatives to successfully deliver business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, mentor and support team to achieve targets
