A great opportunity has become available for a Non-Invasive Testing Services Technician (Thermographer) that will see you delivering in service condition assessments of various electrical assets within the high voltage environment using the Non-Invasive techniques including, Thermal; Ultraviolet (Corona); Ultrasonic; Radio Frequency as well as Aerial Patrols.

 

This role has a substantive base location of Yarraville however is site based and is part of the Non-Invasive Testing team within the Transmission line of business. Regular travel will be required in this role.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Performing non-invasive testing on overhead lines and electrical assets
  • Detailed reporting in a timely manner and works planning
  • Communicating with clients to ensure reasonable needs are met
  • Safe driving in a variety of environments and traffic management
  • Reporting on all safety issues and concerns
  • Meeting company’s and customers’ service level agreement targets
  • Conducting Patrols via aerial methods (Helicopter)

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Excellent safety driving record
  • Category 1 Thermographer (preferred)
  • Traffic management (preferred)
  • 4WD trained (preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and working in team environment
  • Experience in using MS Word and Excel
  • Reading and interpretation of basic schematics
  • Ability to read maps
  • Work towards achieving certification and authorisation to apply for switching application on relevant electricity networks
  • Electrical base knowledge 

 

Travel: Requires travelling to intrastate and interstate and a valid Australian driver’s licence is required.
