As the Network Dispatcher in our Network Operations team, you will play a critical role in reviewing and validating fault information, allocating and dispatching faults to field crews for the restoration and / or repair of outages on the Ausnet Services distribution gas and electricity networks to maximise customer supply safely and reliably.

 

This role is based in Melbourne CBD (on- site, shift work required) and is part of the Network Operations & Delivery team.

 

What you’ll be doing in this role:

 

  • Ensure performance is in accordance with the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Coordinate response to faults including: initial assessment of extent of fault, accurately document incidents in outage system, interface to Customer Faults and Emergency team system to ensure that timely supply outage information is available, allocate or dispatch faults to the most suitable crew/s to minimise customer restoration time
  • Determine importance of faults and prioritise when appropriate
  • Dispatch other non-fault requests to field personnel according to business priority
  • Document and action significant events and accidents that are reported from the field
  • Notify ESV, emergency services and/or internal departments to AusNet of significant events where required
  • Provide required support during emergency situations, events and/or business escalations
  • Respond to incidents/emergencies in accordance with procedures/processes

 

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

  • Applied experience with operational technology systems e.g. outage management systems
  • Sound knowledge of AusNet’s electricity and gas network elements
  • Working knowledge of network faults and response priorities in gas and electricity networks
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources and evaluate technical solutions
  • Experience in a dynamic operational environment highly regarded
  • Displayed digital dexterity to adopt new technologies to improve the network, customer experiences and the way we work
  • Ability to remain focused and calm under high pressure, high volume, and dynamic environments
  • The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Consistent application of analytical / problem solving skills
