At AusNet, we’re connecting communities with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy — and we’re looking for a Network Assurance Specialist to help ensure our network is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
This is a highly visible, field-connected role where you’ll partner closely with internal teams and Delivery Partners to uplift capability, strengthen compliance, and embed a strong safety and quality culture across the network.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor across the business, combining technical expertise, assurance capability and stakeholder engagement to drive better outcomes.
- Conduct field safety and quality audits, identifying risks, insights and practical improvement opportunities
- Lead and support incident investigations and risk assessments, ensuring learnings translate into action
- Provide expert advice on network construction, installation standards and operational practices
- Partner with Delivery Partners and internal stakeholders to uplift capability and ensure compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, performance and commercial outcomes
- Influence a culture of care, curiosity and accountability aligned to our Mission Zero commitment
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
You’re a practical, solutions-focused professional who can balance safety, risk and commercial outcomes in complex environments.
- Trade qualification or significant (10+ years) experience in network, utilities or construction environments
- Strong understanding of HSE, risk, and compliance frameworks
- Experience in auditing, inspections, or operational assurance
- Proven ability to investigate incidents and drive corrective actions
- Solid knowledge of network operations, construction standards or infrastructure delivery
- Excellent stakeholder skills — able to influence contractors, leaders and cross-functional teams
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, data insights and practical problem solving
