We have an opportunity for a Mobile Generation Specialist to manage embedded generation connections and support planned and unplanned outages across AusNet’s distribution network. You’ll play a key role in ensuring network reliability, delivering generation solutions, and implementing best-practice operational procedures. Your expertise will help drive safety, compliance, and performance excellence, while collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance energy resilience

 

 

With a 3/2 hybrid split, this Victoria-based role offers flexibility in base location and sits within the Works Programs & Maintenance team.

 

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of embedded generation connections.
  • Develop and maintain best-practice operating procedures for generation deployment.
  • Support planned and unplanned work by managing generation resources.
  • Act as a key contact for faults, emergencies, and planned interruptions.
  • Identify and implement technical improvements for generation projects.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with delivery partners and strategic suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and report on generation performance, budgets, and key metrics.

 

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Minimum Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent.
  • Current HV Operations Authority and relevant authorisations.
  • Proven experience in delivering works within timeframes and budget.
  • Strong technical skills in electricity distribution and network operations.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret technical and schematic data.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supervising field operations related to generation.
  • Excellent customer negotiation and communication skills
