Play a critical role in applying technical expertise across the design, planning and operational phases of high voltage metering installations. As the Metering Engineer you will be instrumental in ensuring a compliant HV Metering fleet, while leading the development and analysis of briefs, strategies and plans which deliver successful outcomes.

 

With 3 days in the office, 2 days’ work from home, this role is based in Beaconsfield, Victoria and is part of the Asset Management Team.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Provide expert advice in HV metering including metering at transmission and bulk metering points
  • Manage the collation, liaison and approval of Metering Coordinator agreements with market participants in line with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Oversee the delivery of the infield meter testing and inspection programs.
  • Identify risks and forming contingency plans
  • Create reports and technology roadmaps and shares knowledge and insights accordingly.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code that adheres to industry and company standards
  • Provides technical expertise to enable the configuration of software, other system components and equipment for systems testing
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of defective metering equipment and installations.
  • Ensures the development and testing of new meter programs, software and firmware releases.
  • Drives the development and implementation of a transmission metering management solution (MMS)


You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Qualified in an Engineering degree or a related field
  • Expert high voltage metering, high voltage transmission metering installations and design experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing regulatory compliance obligations relating to Meter Coordinator and Meter Provider responsibilities from a transmission metering perspective.
  • Smart metering solutions, design and operation experience.
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets, diagnose outliers and investigate and resolve potentially erroneous configurations
  • Technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with complex utility businesses that have end-to-end processes and internal and external service providers (preferred)
