A great opportunity has become available for a Metering Assets Engineer to support a range of electricity metering operational, strategic and analytical activities within the Metering Assets team on a12 month fixed term contract basis.

 

With a hybrid split (Office/WFH)), this role is based at Beaconsfield and is part of the Gas & Metering team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • The development and testing of new meter programs, software and firmware releases including enhanced functionality testing
  • Provide back-office SME regarding metering installations for whole current, low voltage and high voltage sites
  • Support the business to provide electrical engineering analysis for complex metering installations to meet the requirements of the NER and associated AEMO procedures
  • Provide guidance to the Metering Provider team and Metering Coordinator regarding the compliance of metering installations
  • Assist in test and evaluation of new metering equipment
  • Assist in investigation and resolution of defective metering equipment and installations
  • Provide SME to developers of HV sites that ensures fit for purpose metering can be achieved to customer expectations
  • Control the process of resolving metering malfunctions, events and incidents in a timely manner and in accordance with business and performance service levels and associated key performance indicators
  • Testing and evaluations of new metering product

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Demonstrated experience in electricity metering and electricity metering obligations
  • Experience in metering software and metering data management systems
  • Experience in documenting and publishing work instructions, procedures and processes as well as implementing, training and advising to users.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports for internal and external parties
  • Familiarity with the electricity regulatory and market operating environment is desirable
  • Engineering tertiary qualified or equivalent
