Join our dynamic Group Operations team where we are leading the way in providing strategic level procurement and supply chain delivery.
Step into a pivotal role in our Procurement and Supply Chain team as a Manager, Supplier Strategy where you will drive the development, execution and delivery of a rolling multi-year whole of Ausnet strategy for spend with suppliers to meet business outcomes and to deliver value and risk management. This is a new role, created through our new supplier-centric operating model.
This role will primarily be based in Southbank and is part of the Procurement & Supply Chain, Group Operations team.
This role will deliver real outcomes. Key accountabilities require, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and coach a high performing team, culture and safety, aligned to Ausnet’s leadership behaviours and values.
- Assume the role of trusted leader and partner to internal stakeholders and suppliers through developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Form, manage and evolve an appropriate AusNet supplier base from the mindset of suppliers are an asset to the business.
- Own the management of strategic supplier relationships to deliver AusNet’s interests.
- Develop and execute a rolling multi-year whole-of-AusNet strategy for total spend with suppliers (CAPEX and OPEX). This will be based on the lens of a supplier’s importance to the business and then link to category / commodity strategies.
- Drive the ongoing improvement in outcomes and realised value and risk management of AusNet’s total spend with suppliers by leading supplier relationship management practice.
- Deliver improved security of supply and supply chain resilience through appropriate supply chain risk plans and supply chain management strategies.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or another relevant field. A post-graduate qualification will be highly regarded.
- Significant experience in supplier and commercial management and in successfully developing and implementing strategies and frameworks to improve supplier strategies, preferably in energy sector.
- Proven experience working in matrix environment with varying priorities and needs, with successful track record for building strong and effective working relationships internally and with suppliers.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills, including in analysis, negotiation, financial and commercial acumen, and communication.
- Leadership and team management skills, pro-active problem-solving ability, attention to detail and ability to make informed decisions based on observed facts and risks.
- Extensive experience in the development of strategy and supplier relationship management.
- Current knowledge and experience in the utilities industry and infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Competency with procurement enterprise systems (e.g. ERP systems, e-Procurement tools) is an advantage.
