Play a critical role as a Manager, Procurement (Networks) where you will manage a Procurement team focused on developing and executing strategy covering the Network Lines of Business CAPEX and OPEX requirements to deliver outcomes in value and risk management.

 

This role will primarily be based in Southbank and is part of the Procurement & Supply Chain, Group Operations team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes.  Key accountabilities require, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Lead and coach a high performing team, culture and safety, aligned to Ausnet’s leadership behaviours and values.
  • Assume the role of trusted leader and partner to internal stakeholders and suppliers through developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute strategy for a multi-billion-dollar CAPEX and OPEX spend with suppliers to deliver stakeholder requirements and improved commercial value and risk outcomes.
  • Drive supplier management strategy and supply chain resilience.
  • Deliver commercial leadership in sourcing and contract management.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers.
  • Provide insights on industries, commodities / categories, suppliers and contracts to iterate strategy and risk management planning, identify and pursue opportunities, and to address issues.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or another relevant field.  A post-graduate qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Significant proven experience in a similar supplier and commercial management role.
  • Established experience as a people-leader in a commercial environment within Procurement.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills, including in analysis, negotiation, financial and commercial acumen and communication.
  • Extensive experience in the development of strategy and supplier relationship management.
  • Current knowledge and experience in the utilities industry and infrastructure projects is an advantage.
  • Competency with procurement enterprise systems (e.g. ERP systems, e-Procurement tools) is an advantage.
