About the Role

 

As the Manager HSEQ COE, you will drive and facilitate a culture of safety and continuous improvement in all aspects of health, safety, environment quality and HSEQ work practices within the business.

 

The key to success in this role is to successfully deliver the mission Zero program and associated initiatives and 3–5-year action plans along with achieving improvement in delivery partners performance.

 

This role will report to the GM HSEQ & Compliance and is located at Southbank, Victoria.

We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.

 

What you will deliver

  • Continuous improvement of HSEQ strategic deliverables, including maintaining and tracking a 3–5-year HSEQ plan, supporting action and Key Results.
  • Engage stakeholders and ensure their input into the HSEQ strategy.
  • Lead Health and Safety, Environment, Wellbeing, and Business Process COE teams to develop discipline and achieve high performance in all areas.
  • Liaise with and lead Operational HSEQ teams to ensure the implementation of business plans and objectives.
  • Contribute to our ability to deliver our services by actively demonstrating an understanding of work, health, safety, environment, and business process standards and applying them.
  • Ensure compliance through actively engaging with stakeholders and maintaining awareness of relevant legislation, laws, regulations, standards, codes and AusNet policies and procedures.
  • Support Delivery Partners to align with AusNet’s strategic HSEQ direction and achieve HSEQ objectives.
  • Enable accelerated achievement of mission Zero goals via culture change through tangible and measurable approaches to improving HSEQ.
  • Build the foundations required to allow the business to move at pace by looking beyond what we do today.
  • Actively contribute to mission Zero improvement measurements and targets.

 

What we like about you

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a safety culture whilst establishing and maintaining a strategic direction in HSEQ.
  • Proven capability in developing and leading the implementation of a strategic business plan.
  • Relevant qualifications in HSEQ and business preferred.
  • People Leadership experience including coaching and development of teams and individuals and experience in managing and resolving conflicts, employee performance and issues.
  • Exposure to financial management principles including budgeting, forecasting and accountability for programs.
  • Project / Program management experience & understanding of methodologies.
  • Experience in providing input into regulatory framework and business model (regulated and non-regulated revenue) and contribution and impacts of own area.
  • Understanding of company policies, processes, and procedures e.g.: HS&E, HR, Business reporting, IT, approval process, procurement, incident investigations etc.
