An exciting opportunity has become available for a Manager, Contracts & Controls (Transmission).

 

This role will see you leading the essential support functions required for the Transmission Project Delivery group to deliver major capital project portfolios, operational and technical engineering across AusNet’s electrical transmission networks.

 

Working closely with the wider Project Delivery team, you will establish strong monitoring, reporting and control frameworks and fit for purpose contracts by ensuring cost, quality, risk and time are met.  You will provide input and experience to the establishment and delivery of the Transmission Project Delivery Strategy.

 

With a hybrid split (WFH/Office – Southbank &/or Malvern), this role reports to the GM, Project Delivery (Transmission).

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for contract and controls support for engineering and project delivery (regulated & non-contestable works)

  • Contractual negotiations with our Delivery Partners and Suppliers on behalf of the Project Delivery group, including providing contractual advice and dispute resolution

  • Lead our delivery partner performance/governance management and oversee their operational contract management and portfolio management

  • Management of project reporting and forecasting

  • Team oversight of the analysis of costs to provide early warning of variances and issues, challenges and financial forecasts

  • Manage and support the procurement of project related materials and services in collaboration with AusNet’s Procurement team

  • Lead high performing people, culture and safety

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Demonstrated experience in portfolio and contract management and leadership of successful teams is imperative

  • Experience gained in an operating environment where safety, commercial accountability and quality of delivery are leading indicators of success

  • Demonstrated experience in drafting contracts and contract governance

  • Demonstrated systems and process improvement expertise

  • Ability in leading and monitoring portfolio/programs of work with a proven track record of successful delivery and extracting contract value via continuous improvement

  • Ability to identify different delivery/contracting methodologies to promote efficient project/program/contract management/contract

  • Solid experience in a leadership role, demonstrating behaviours in building high performing multidiscipline teams
