You'll be taking the lead on work programs and initiatives, guiding and supporting the team to deliver great results for all distribution and sub-transmission assets. You'll be working closely with a range of stakeholders, like Design and Construction Delivery Partners, as well as Operational and Maintenance Partners, to make sure assets are rolled out and maintained to the highest standards.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role a permanent full time position and is based in Southbank, Victoria and is part of the Distribution team. This role will require travel and is very little office based.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Provide emergency response support to field teams during network incidents, and lead the investigation and reporting of equipment issues, failures, and defects. This may involve being on call when needed.
- Drive meaningful improvements in the management of primary plant, particularly in Zone Substations and field devices like Regulators, Pole Top Capacitors, Reclosers, and Remote Control Devices.
- Approve new Engineering Standards and technical documentation.
- Lead efforts to enhance network and asset performance, including introducing new technology and overseeing trial implementations.
- Lead, coach, and mentor engineering staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help the team and business meet their goals.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Over 10 years' experience in the utility industry, with a solid understanding of plant and equipment up to 66kV (preferably up to 500kV).
- Proven knowledge of a wide range of primary plant operations.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently but also have a strong track record of thriving in a team environment.
- In-depth understanding of the regulatory framework within which AusNet operates.
- Strong grasp of engineering principles.
