Purposeful work with genuinely good people. That’s refreshing.
The Western Renewables Link Project (WRL) is the largest transmission build of its kind in more than three decades. WRL is a critical piece of transmission infrastructure required to deliver energy from wind and solar farms in western Victoria to homes across the state and to the National Electricity Market.
As the Landholder Communications and Collateral Advisor, you will play a key role within the Western Renewables Link (WRL) project team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of clear, consistent, and compliant communications to landholders.
This role supports the project’s obligations under the Land Access Code of Practice (LACOP) and plays a central role in the planning and execution of landholder engagement campaigns, including the development of correspondence and collateral that supports land access and project delivery.
Your role will be key in driving meaningful correspondence and collateral, contributing to a landmark project in Australia’s energy transition. If you’re ready to make a lasting impact, this is your chance!
This role can either be based in our head office in Melbourne or Ballarat and is part of the Western Renewable Link Project which spans from Sydenham in western metropolitan Melbourne to Bulgana located between Stawell and Ararat in western Victoria. Regular travel to regional western Victoria is a requirement of this role.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
-
Act as the primary liaison between the WRL Land Access Planning, Land Engagement, Land Transactions, Field Operations and Security and Communications teams to ensure all landholder communications are LACOP-compliant and effectively delivered.
-
Develop, review, and maintain a suite of WRL-specific landholder communication templates, tools, and collateral.
-
Draft and coordinate timely, accurate, and sensitive correspondence to landholders, including responses to enquiries and complaints, particularly during peak campaign periods.
-
Support the planning and execution of major WRL landholder communication campaigns, and associated mailouts.
-
Collaborate with technical experts to translate complex WRL project information into accessible and audience-appropriate content.
-
Provide strategic advice on best practices for landholder communications and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Ensure alignment of messaging across all WRL project streams and stakeholder touchpoints.
-
Coordinate and conduct triage and quality assurance (QA) of landholder communications for the Land Engagement team to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with LACOP standards.
-
Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of LACOP compliance checklists and related processes to support robust governance of landholder communications
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
-
Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, or a related field
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a communications or advisory role, preferably in infrastructure, energy, or regulated environments.
-
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering stakeholder communications, particularly in sensitive or high-profile contexts.
-
Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills across various formats and audiences.
-
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure.
-
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as LACOP or similar codes of practice
-
Experience in landholder or community engagement within major infrastructure projects.
-
Knowledge of environmental planning and infrastructure project lifecycles.
