We have an exciting opportunity for an Industry Engagement Specialist to lead and implement stakeholder engagement strategies for transmission infrastructure projects through their construction and delivery phases.

This role plays a crucial part in our once-in-a-lifetime energy transition, driving effective engagement with key stakeholders and contributing to Australia's cleaner energy future.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid split (3 Days in Office 2 days working from home), this role is based in Ballarat / Melbourne CBD  and is part of the Regional & Industry Interface team.

 

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Contribute engagement expertise and local/regional knowledge to plan and guide engagement strategies.
  • Support pre-construction and construction phase engagement of high-priority parties.
  • Provide advice and develop plans for engaging local communities, businesses, and suppliers.
  • Manage relationships across a broad stakeholder group including local communities and regional industry.
  • Work with construction and strategy teams to support local supply chain engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate community and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Manage external advisors, consultants, and contractors in relation to relevant scope and deliverables.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Relevant experience and qualifications in Community and Stakeholder Engagement, Regional Development, Utilities, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and frontline engagement.
  • Experience in project delivery with regular engagement with external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional listening, rapport-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • High-quality written communication skills for reports and presentations.
  • Exceptional time, project management, and planning skills.
  • Appreciation of statutory planning, environmental, essential services, and compliance processes.
  • IAP2 Certificate or experience in local/regional economic development and engagement is an advantage.
