We are going through an exciting period of growth and with that we have a great opportunity for a Group Leader, Project Development to join us!

 

This role will see you leading and supporting the successful development of company and customer-initiated projects, ensuring all aspects of scope, cost, schedule, risk, constructability, commercial and lessons learnt have been considered on each individual project.

 

You will work with internal and external stakeholders including customers, ensuring project development activities are delivered on time and that all projects are established with clarity that will enable successful delivery.

 

With a hybrid split (Office/WFH)), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of our Project Development (Delivery) team within our Transmission line of business.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: 

  • Lead the delivery of project development activities to ensure on time completion
  • Provide project development leadership on Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet’s Electricity transmission networks
  • Apply project delivery knowledge to ensure efficient solutions can be reached on complex projects
  • Contribute to the development of scopes and estimates for Transmission networks projects, ensuring cost effective and constructible business cases can be delivered
  • Provide input into staging, constructability, operability, and maintainability (COM) reviews
  • Responsible for the development of project schedules during project development phase
  • Provide scheduling support to the Strategic Planning and Performance team
  • Directing and leading project managers and estimators through project concept design development
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert in the field of Project Development and Project Management
  • Support Transmission Delivery teams by providing mentoring, informal training, and support to less experienced team members

 

You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in electricity networks engineering
  • Ability to simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers
  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Civil/Structural Engineering or similar
  • Extensive experience working in substation or lines engineering, project delivery &/or design role
  • Proven project team leadership skills
  • Proven capability in development of concepts &/or delivery of designs
