A great opportunity has become available for a Group Leader, Customer Works to manage the end to end leadership and delivery of a diversified portfolio of discrete Capital Works (CAPEX) Projects and nominated Operating Expense (OPEX)projects.

 

As Group Leader Customer Works, you will ensure the safe, timely and efficient delivery of the allocated projects within the Customer Works portfolio and optimise the delivery of construction across the Project sites whilst leading and mentoring a diverse team of Project Managers.

 

With a hybrid split, this position is based at Malvern and is part of the Project Delivery team within our Transmission line of business.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Effectively coordinate the delivery of interdependent programs
  • Effectively apply the appropriate management methodologies and provide governance over management of scope and stakeholders, identification and escalation of issues, risks, budgets
  • Lead, develop and foster performance improvements, by identifying inefficiencies and leading activities to rectify the root causes
  • Establish a collaborative culture within the team and build strong stakeholder relationship with functions such as engineering, procurement, commercial and construction and commissioning to deliver the works program and to minimize the resource overheads to deliver the program of works
  • Proactively work with delivery partners to ensure performance requirements are met
  • Effective management of resources to ensure targets are met
  • Develop, lead and embed a culture that creates a Centre of Excellence (COE) with an owners mindset.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Experience in Project Management and the leadership of successful teams is imperative, gained in an operating environment where safety, commercial accountability and quality of delivery are leading indicators of success
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the interface relationships between stakeholders
  • High level ability of decision making to ensure business, customer and stakeholder outcomes and expectations are meet
  • Experience with communication and negotiation skills that enable the effective management of key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in leading, managing portfolio/programs of work with a track record of successful delivery and extracting value via continuous improvement
  • Experience and/or qualification in related field (construction, business, engineering, project management, portfolio delivery)

 

Travel: Occasional travel to local AusNet offices, depots, project sites and assets required
