The Group Leader Commissioning & Construction is charged with ensuring a ‘Centre of Excellence for Commissioning & Construction Management’ within AusNet Services in collaboration with the Project Managers.  Ensure the safe, timely and efficient delivery of the commissioning and construction activities to optimise the delivery of construction across the Project sites.

Mentoring of a diverse team of construction and commissioning specialists to develop construction / commissioning management plans.

With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based between Malvern and Southbank, with frequent site visits also required and is part of the Network Management team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Lead & manage construction and commissioning Technical specialists who support and optimise project delivery efficiency
    • Establish commissioning management framework that will be used by internal and external testing managers.
    • Ensure the implementation of IEAust best practise in application of engineering principles
    • Effectively coordinate & lead the delivery of interdependent program
    • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with testing codes and other regulations
    • Ensure internal teams are appropriately resourced
    • Report on progress, adhere to timeframes and escalate any project risks
    • Maintain safety and quality standards
    • Developing and maintaining internal / external service relationships and arrangements to achieve quality outcomes and competitive solutions
  • Lead the team culture and accountable of strategy, innovation, culture development, capability development and stakeholder management to ensure the effective performance of the team.
  • Act and demonstrate behaviour in accordance with AusNet Services and other regulatory policies, procedures, standards and obligations.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Experience in leading Commissioning & Construction of Major Projects within the energy industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team that is innovative, flexible, solution focused and commercial
  • Proven ability to negotiate, influence, build and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to mobilise resources when required to meet the objectives and targets
  • Proven Project Management capabilities with large / complex programs of work
  • Able to contribute to commercial contract negotiations and procurement or materials and services
  • Ensure safety, risk management and environmental outcomes are achieved
  • Committed to the safety of the community, as a whole and employees engaged in the provision of services
