Description:

When you choose AusNet, you’ll join genuine people working together making Real. Progress

At AusNet, we’re the link between energy sources and local communities, playing a key role in the clean energy transition and providing essential energy to every Western Victorian family.

Help us lead the way, while enriching your career with real people who encourage you to bring your best and make real impact – for your career, our communities, and Australia’s energy future.

The future of gas and electrification

  • Gas is an essential service in Victoria, and it will be for decades to come. Our priority is to continue safe and reliable gas supply to our gas distribution customers in Western Victoria.
  • We believe there is potential for the gas network to play a role for supporting the energy system through the transition with renewable gas. The challenges this brings to the Gas Network are interesting and complex to solve.
  • Maintaining a safe and reliable gas network, supporting price stability, and seeking equitable outcomes for customers through the energy transition will require ongoing dialogue and a coordinated approach.

Purposeful work with genuinely good people. That’s refreshing.

As the Gas Data & Information Systems Analyst, you’ll empower AusNet’s Gas Business with accurate, timely, and actionable insights. In this role, you’ll drive data quality and performance reporting to support financial and operational goals. You’ll analyse trends, create visualisations, and streamline reporting processes to ensure data is reliable, consistent, and ready to inform key decisions. If you're passionate about turning data into impact and thrive in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you.

With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in South Bank and is part of the Network Management Team, with occasional travel to site within Victoria.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Data Collection and Cleaning: Maintain the data asset registry and ensure data from all sources is accurate, consistent, and reliable across reporting tools, resolving discrepancies proactively.

  • Data Visualization: Create visual representations of data to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and enable Asset Performance Engineers to action insights efficiently.
  • Reporting: Develop internal and external KPI reporting such as Monthly Asset Performance KPIs, Regulatory KPI reports, RINS, NGERS. Support the enterprise Capex, Opex and GAAR Planning cycle.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand Gas Business value drivers and provide data-driven solutions.

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business or data analytics.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the Energy Sector
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in building interactive dashboards (Power BI), streamlining reporting and automating workflows
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address business challenges.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data handling and analysis.
  • Independent problem solving and management of resolution for assigned work.
