The Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst is responsible for transforming financial data into actionable insights and providing the business with clear visibility of its performance. This role combines finance analyst responsibilities—such as forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning—with a strong focus on designing impactful reporting packs and dashboards to provide clarity and visibility for stakeholders.
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven professional who thrives on engagement and collaboration. You will provide timely and robust financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making, including contributing to the regulated annual five-year financial plan in line with stakeholder expectations.
Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management skills, adaptability, and a practical, solution-focused approach. Your insights will drive key strategies and decisions, directly contributing to meaningful improvements in business performance.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Finance, Strategy & Legal team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Provide insights and detailed financial analysis of business unit actuals, forecasts and budgets each month to support understanding and decision making.
- Develop and maintain visually appealing and user-friendly financial reporting packs tailored for stakeholders by leveraging PowerPoint, power BI and excel skills.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to consolidate financial budgets and forecasts and ensure reports align with business needs.
- Work with the relevant profit centre owners to develop accurate and timely financial plans, budgets and forecasts. Ensure forecasting processes are robust and meet senior management requirements.
- Provide detailed financial modelling and analysis to support key business decisions.
- Work with the relevant business stakeholders, support the identification and resolution of data integrity and process issues that have an impact on the financials.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within Finance to enhance visibility to business performance.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Recent degree or a postgraduate qualification recognised by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and/or CPA Australia.
- Interpret & summarise financial information to prepare clear, accurate and insightful reporting & analysis with meticulous design and exceptional attention to detail for Senior Executives
- Strong understanding of financial management principles (including budgeting and forecasting)
- Deadline driven with an ability to meet multiple deadlines and independently balance competing priorities
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint with strong visual and storytelling capabilities.
- Strong Power BI skills for dashboard creation and data visualization
- SAP (FI/CO/BPC/AFO) preferred but not essential
