We’re entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for a Finance Business Partner to help us lead the way.
The Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting the financial performance of our Electricity Distribution business. Based at Freshwater Place and part of Finance, Strategy & Legal, this permanent full-time role partners closely with leaders to provide commercial advice, insightful reporting and analysis that helps drive strong business outcomes.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Engage and collaborate with the business and wider Finance team to support strategic and operational priorities through financial analysis, advice, and recommendations. Ensure that financial and accounting policies and processes are adhered to.
- Provide financial support for capital and opex projects in the delivery and operating phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring knowledge transfer of relevant information in relation to project contracts.
- Apply in depth understanding of the drivers of the business to ensure accurate development of financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and scenario analysis.
- Actively partake in the complication of the Annual Regulatory Accounts, which an understanding of the regulatory framework and environment.
- Lead the month end processes down to an EBITDAaL level, ensuring data integrity and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance (risk and opportunities).
- Proactively be a trusted partner to business leaders to provide robust and timely financial advice and guidance in accounting and financial matters, policies and processes, alignment to the Network, Operations and Delivery team.
- Contribute to the monthly consolidated business unit reports, providing insightful recommendations to improve financial performance (actions, risks and opportunities).
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
- Advanced application of financial accounting (including cost allocation, operating/capital expenditure, revenue recognition, project accounting) and financial management principles (including planning, budgeting and forecasting).
- Strong commercial acumen demonstrated through understanding of business drivers and operations.
- Demonstrated experience providing analysis and interpretation of financial and non-financial information to provide reporting and insights that drive business action.
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills, SAP experience (FICO/PS/BI/BO/BPC) and proficiency with financial systems or Power Bi.
- Excellent communications to develop strong relationships and translate financial and commercial information for a variety of stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement mindset, always looking for ways to drive efficiencies and improvements that drive positive outcomes.
- Excellent attention to detail in preparing and reviewing deliverables.
