We are looking for a skilled Finance Business Partner to join our Finance, Strategy and Legal team. This role is key in collaborating with leaders to deliver financial and commercial guidance, provide valuable reporting insights, and uncover opportunities that enhance the business performance of AusNet's Electricity Distribution division.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role a permanent position and is based in Southbank, Victoria and is part of the Regulated Finance team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with the business and wider Finance team to support strategic and operational goals through financial analysis, advice, and recommendations, while ensuring adherence to financial and accounting policies and processes.
- Provide financial support for capital projects throughout the delivery and operational phases, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer of relevant project contract information from the Capital Portfolio Governance team.
- Leverage a deep understanding of business drivers to accurately develop financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and conduct scenario analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Regulatory Accounts, applying knowledge of the regulatory framework and environment.
- Lead the month-end processes through to EBITDAaL, ensuring data integrity, and providing insightful analysis and recommendations to optimise financial performance, addressing both risks and opportunities.
- Activity contribute and support the work management and planning function.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Expert in financial accounting, including cost allocation, operating/capital expenditure, revenue recognition, and project accounting, as well as financial management principles like planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of business drivers and operations.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret both financial and non-financial data to provide insightful reporting that drives business decisions.
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills, along with experience using SAP (BI/BO/BPC) and proficiency with financial systems or Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships and effectively translate financial and commercial information for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working closely with senior stakeholders to offer financial and commercial advice and influence positive financial outcomes.
