We’re looking for an Operations & Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic team. You work closely with the Service Delivery Manager while maintaining a strong connection to the field. You will engage directly with customers and delivery partners to ensure best-in-class O&M service delivery across more than 20 large infrastructure sites valued at approximately $2B.

 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of O&M strategies and pricing models that support future network growth, while playing a critical role in optimizing asset performance and reliability.

With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH, this role can be based in Melbourne CBD and, Development & Future Networks team. 

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Deliver exceptional Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services across 20+ major infrastructure sites valued at approximately $2B, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Shape O&M strategy and pricing models to support future network development and drive commercial success.
  • Champion compliance and governance, maintaining alignment with legislation, regulations, and AusNet standards through proactive industry engagement.
  • Build strong customer and stakeholder relationships, developing outage strategies that improve asset availability and minimize penalty costs.
  • Lead maintenance delivery by coordinating with partners to ensure activities meet program schedules, budgets, and performance targets.
  • Manage risk and performance through audits, investigations, and accurate reporting to stakeholders and regulators.
  • Optimize asset lifecycle by overseeing spares inventory, warranties, and defect liability periods, while collaborating with planners to reduce penalties.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • 5+ years' experience in similar technical advisory role in similar industry
  • Experience working in electrical transmission industry preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge, skills and good judgement to deliver optimal business and customer outcomes
  • Understanding of substation and line equipment, layouts and HV operational planning and procedures
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influence and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to find win-win solutions to complex problems
  • Strong commercial acumen and business understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple sites, competing priorities and towards deadlines; ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Experience with Asset Management systems such as SAP, Objective, JIRA or similar preferred
