Are you ready to take charge and lead the way in engineering and design management for large-scale, high-stakes projects? We're seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead the success of our most challenging endeavors!

 

As our Engineering Manager, you'll be at the helm of large and complex projects, orchestrating multiple work streams with finesse. With projects typically valued at over $500 million, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where every decision counts.

 

You will ensure that our projects not only meet but exceed design requirements, timeframes, and budget constraints. But that's not all – you'll also champion our commitments to commercial success, HR excellence, safety standards, quality assurance, and environmental and community impact.

 

You'll be empowered to identify and seize opportunities, turning challenges into triumphs! Your strategic mindset and problem-solving prowess will be the driving force behind our project's financial success, as you navigate through obstacles and capitalize on every chance for growth.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH , this role is based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Western Renewables Link project team, Development & Future Networks team. 

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Drive project design and engineering for quality and cost efficiency.
  • Exhibit commercial acumen in client interactions.
  • Provide engineering support to site management.
  • Oversee estimates, tenders, and advise on construction techniques.
  • Assess project modification claims and offer engineering insights.
  • Manage client expectations and effectively communicate with the project team.
  • Coordinate with Design Managers and senior engineering management for consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and mentor engineering staff for high performance.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Building Construction is preferred
  • Expertise in contemporary design and construction practices.
  • Strong understanding of contractual, legal, commercial, and legislative compliance.
  • Advanced financial management abilities, including cost reduction and budget management.
  • Proficiency in safety, environmental, and quality risk management.
