We’re entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for a Engineer – SCADA EMS to help us lead the way.
As an Engineer – SCADA EMS in our Digital & Technology team, you’ll provide specialist support, maintenance, development and continuous improvement across AusNet’s SCADA Energy Management Systems. You’ll play a key role in incident and problem management, ensuring system performance, availability and data integrity to support operational decision-making and regulatory reporting.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- PI System administration of a High Availability PI system architecture across corporate and SCADA environments.
- Maintains knowledge of specific systems, provides detailed advice regarding their application, and executes specialised tasks.
- Is responsible for the day-to-day support and maintenance of the SCADA Energy Management Systems, and is responsible for supporting SCADA Energy Management System implementations.
- Maintains system support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
- Identifies, registers, categorises, prioritises and diagnoses incidents and issues in a timely manner as per agreed SLAs, according to agreed procedures.
- Analyses service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability, monitoring system performance and anticipating problems. Ensures that services and components meet and continue to meet all of their agreed performance targets and service levels.
- Ensures configuration or patch releases into production do not cause downtime of the Energy Management Systems
- Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change. Applies change control procedures.
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
- PI System Administration including PI Asset Framework models, PI Vision, PI Web API, PI Datalink, GE Habconnect Interface, PI UFL and HTML Interfaces
- PI Servers Non-SOE administration, vulnerability assessment, patching upgrade planning
- PI User support across PI Vision, PI Datalink, PI WebAPI, PI OLEDB
- Detailed knowledge of SCADA and AEMS systems.
- Strong capability across incident/problem management, troubleshooting and service reliability.
- Clear communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- A safety-first mindset and the resilience to work under pressure in a critical operations environment.
- Ability to analyse operational data, maintain data quality, and deliver practical solutions.
